Nancy A. (MacAuley) Surette passed away peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers at the age of 71 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Nancy was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, where she formed lifelong friendships, and spent most of her life in Stoneham, Massachusetts, where she raised her family. She is survived by her three children—Peter and his wife Faula of Lowell, Lauren and her husband Matt of Stoneham, and Taylor and her husband Dave of Stoneham—and her four grandchildren, whom she adored: Alex, Scarlett, Layla, and Rae.
A lifelong animal lover, Nancy enjoyed spending time outdoors with her canine companions. Prior to her illness, she could often be spotted out dog walking, a job that she truly loved. She also cared for animals in her community and supported animal-related causes.
Nancy will be remembered for her love of family, her care for animals, and the quiet ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Tuesday December 30, 2025 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
