Mrs. Nancy C. Thurman, age 90, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 8:00 PM at the Oak Hill Senior Living in Portland, TN.
Mrs. Thurman wishes to be cremated. There will be private family graveside service at a later date.
Nancy was born on November 25, 1934 in Simpson County, KY to the late Donlean Turner and the late Rosie (Poston) Turner. She was the wife of the late, William S. “Bill” Thurman and preceded in death by three siblings, Bobby Turner, Ann Fleming and Linda Faye Turner.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Stratton (Mike) of Franklin, KY; granddaughter, Audra Lafleur (Jared) of Massachusetts; great-grandson, Eli; sister, Bettie Biggs of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Franklin-Simpson County High School in Franklin, KY. As a child, she attended Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. She was a member of the Franklin Garden Club, Simpson County Homemakers, Friends of the Goodnight Memorial Library, and an active member of the Lake Springs community. Nancy was retired from Simpson County Bank/Union Planters/Regions Bank in Franklin, KY.
Nancy committed her life to being with her family and serving her community. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and loved to cook. As a former Simpson County telephone operator, Nancy enjoyed getting together with the “telephone girls” regularly in her retirement.
