COHOES - Nancy A. VanBuskirk, 76, entered into eternal life Monday, January 5, 2026, at Hudson Park Nursing & Rehab.
Born and educated in Cohoes, she was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Cook Nocella; and wife of the late Robert E. VanBuskirk, who passed in 2017.
Nancy had been employed with the N.Y.S. Deptartment of Taxation & Finance for 38 years, until retiring in 2005. Following her retirement, she always enjoyed spending her summers with her camp family at Hinkley Lake in Remsen, N.Y. She was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Cohoes, and also was a member of the Cohoes Waterford Elks Lodge, and Cohoes Remembers Vets.
Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Andrew VanBuskirk and Vanessa VanBuskirk, both of Cohoes; by her siblings, Jerry Nocella (Joyce), of Cohoes, Marie Brooks (late Michael), of Cohoes and Diane Wanderford (late Pat), of Brunswick; by her grandchildren, Scarlett Sergeev, Jade VanBuskirk, Thomas Bullis Jr. and Sybastian VanBuskirk; and by her great-granddaughter, Bindi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery entrance at 12:15 p.m.
