NANCY RUTH WORLEY BOARDLEY WASHINGTON was one of five children born to George Clem Worley and Mary E. Alston on February 1, 1947, She departed this earth on February 9, 2026.

Nancy was joined in matrimony to Allen E. Boardley (dec'd). From that union was born Turhan, Allen and Eric Boardley. She later wed John Washington.

Nancy spent her early childhood in North Carolina, attending G.C. Harland Elementary School until around the age of nine. The family then moved to Delaware where she attended public school, graduating from James Grove.

The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses was her religious sanctuary. She joined their congregation in her early adulthood and enjoyed reading and sharing their written word.

Over the years Nancy held various jobs and positions including school bus driver street and hall monitor for the children and an avid believer in integration. After 20 years of dedicated service, Nancy retired from Walmart. She really appreciated her time with such diverse coworkers and shoppers. She earned various awards and plaques for her service. Ms. Washington was a certified Foster Mother, taught herself to speak Spanish fluently and liked to go out for breakfast.

Ms. Nancy Washington was preceeded in death by her parents, George Clem and Mary E. Worley; her brothers, Elester and George Worley; and her sons, Al and Eric Boardley.

Nancy leaves to mourn her son, Turhan Boardley of Wilmington, Delaware; brothers, Glenn Worley of Wilmington, Delaware, and Charles Worley of Baltimore, Maryland,; 10 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other family and friends.
