Wells, Nancy R., 83, of Stickleyville, VA, went to be with her Lord on Monday (December 26, 2011) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was born in Imboden, VA, lived in her early years in Big Stone Gap, lived in Lake County, FL for several years and had lived in Stickleyville since 1982. She was a member of the Robinette Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wells, Sr.; her parents, Marion Curtis Neely and Margaret E. (Lawson) Neely; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are two sons, Joseph (Esta) Wells, Jr. of Sevierville, TN and Kris A. (Tina) Wells of Stickleyville, VA; four daughters, Thelma (Clifford) McAmis of Norton, VA, Wilma (Gary) Pannell of Wise, VA, Mattie Whitley of Charlotte, NC and Gracie (Ron Payne) Ballard of Stickleyville, VA; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brothers, Richard Neely of Pekin, IN; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Childress officiating. Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Friday to go in procession.
