Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute to your mother, Liz. I can only imagine how proud she was of you. Although your Elmhurst University colleagues and students may not have known Nancy, we witness her legacy of kindness, love, compassion, and fierce perseverance every day. Students in particular would recognize Nancy's ability to "command the room" in your compelling, engaging teaching, which transforms students' lives through deeply humane, shared practices of reading, writing, and creative expression.
