Nancy Wallen Wright

Nancy (Wallen) Wright, 74, of Greene, Iowa, passed away February 3, 2026, at her home. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Greene is caring for Nancy and her family. Visitation and service will be Friday, February 13,11:00 am – 12:30 at Fort Snelling Chapel, 1 Tower Ave., Fort Snelling. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Nancy Katherine Little was born July 5, 1951, in St. Paul Minnesota, a daughter of Bernard and Rosemary (Schneider) Little. She graduated from Burnsville High School and Mankato State University with a degree in Music Education. She taught music in high schools and eventually at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. And was also an entrepreneur with her gardening and crafts.

Nancy was united in marriage with Randy Wallen in 1976. He passed away in 1992. In 2003 Nancy married James Wright. He passed away in 2024.

Her many talents kept her busy as she loved to do crafts, baking, crocheting, and cross stitch. She loved being outdoors and gardening.

Nancy is survived by her children: Christy A. Wallen, NY; Michael D. Wallen, Dallas, TX; Matthew B. Wallen, Maple Plaine, MN; 8 grandchildren: Taylor, Caleb, Luke, Ruth, MargyAnn, Taliyah, Alex, Aaron; 1 great grandchild: Nyara; step-daughter Amy Dolley, IA; sisters: Donna (Gil) Jara, NE; Linda (Jim) DeMers, MN; Becky (Les) Nordquist, MN; Luann (Dave) Tillman, MN; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 husbands.
