Helen (forgive me I had to one last time) “Naomi” Gates, 88 of Zanesville, passed away on November 29, 2025, at her home.

She was born to the late Evelyn and Chester Roberts on May 18, 1937. Naomi loved going to Bingo with her daughter, grandkids, and lifelong friends. She enjoyed playing Euchre at Rokeby Lock and The Eagles. She loved watching game shows and Pitbulls and Parolees.

As well as her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Doug Roberts, her sister, Peg (Dick) Spiker, her daughter, Sandy Radcliff, her “baby boy” Jamie Gates Jr., her grandson, Ricky Radcliff Sr., her son-in-law, Jeff Jewell Sr., and countless other friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Tom) Padgett, Brenda Jewell (Terry), and Christy Gates. Her grandchildren, Paul (Patricia) Jewell, (Sharlene), (Danny), Amy (Jeff and Cindy) Sindeldecker, Heidi (Shawn) Heskett, Tiffany Jewell (Rodney), Kelsey (Kyle) Madinger, Robbie (Patty) Deitenbeck, Kisha Radcliff, Alexandria (Tony) Mahon, Ricky Radcliff Jr., Devon (Angela) Hunter, and Andra (Austin) Foit; thirty-two great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; her sister-in-law, Chris Gates and lifelong friend Peggy (Ronnie) Evans. Her dog, Jingles, who refused to leave her side; as well as her Salvation Army family, especially George Bates.

In keeping with Naomi’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Gates family.
