Naomi Irwin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 11, 2025.
Naomi "Marie" Irwin, age 97, of Walls, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi.

Born on February 8, 1928, to Elvis and Dovie Bullman. Marie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She married the love of her life, Lynn D. Irwin Sr., in 1964, and together they shared many cherished years of marriage and memories.

Marie devoted 32 years of service as a secretary before retiring from Shelby County Government. Her dedication, reliability, and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Marie loved the Lord with all her heart. She found great joy in singing hymns of praise in the church choir and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with the Holiday Rambler RV Club, was an avid supporter of the International Rainbow for Girls and was an active and devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis and Dovie Bullman; her brother, Virgil Bullman; and her husband Lynn D. Irwin Sr.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lynn D Irwin Jr. and Lynn Irwin; her grandchildren, April Kahler (Joshua Kahler), Amber Duke (Adam Duke), and Chelsea Irwin (Anthony Powell); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Adison, Lydia, Madelyn, Mason, Skyelynn, Carson, and Oakley.

Marie's love, faith, and gentle presence will live on through each of them.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers and family for their time, patience, love and support through it all.
