Naomi Turmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson - Larson Funeral Home, Minot on Jul. 14, 2025.
Naomi "Nay" Chantelle (Moe) Turmon, 44, of Minot passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, surrounded by her children and loved ones.

Naomi was born September 5, 1980 to Becky (Greg) Odell and JR (Val) Richardson. She was raised by her mother, Becky and dad, Gregory Booker, in Minot, where she spent most of her life.

In 2004, Naomi graduated from Hair Academy and discovered her lifelong passion for hairstyling. After graduating, she would attend hair shows and events to stay current but would also teach herself her own tricks – she was crafty that way. Over the years, she brought her talents to several salons in Minot, including Sears, Blondies, and Styles Inc. When she wasn't styling hair, Naomi was brightening up her customers' days at Harley's Gas Station.

Naomi enjoyed drawing, writing poetry, and sipping her morning coffee-with seven sugars. More than anything she was an amazing mother and she cherished every moment with her three children, Tia, Jalen, and Ja'shaun, and shared a special bond with her nephew JaCobi, whom she helped raise.

She is survived by her beloved children, Tia Moe Anderson and Ja'shaun Turman; her nephew and bonus son, JaCobi Booker; her dad, Gregory Booker; her sisters, Farrah (Rob) Nuzzo and Keisha Richardson; her brothers, DiAndre and Gerimiah Booker; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with countless friends whose lives she touched-especially her two best friends, Mandy Davis and Valarie Walters, who were more like sisters than friends.

She is now surrounded once more by those she loved and lost-her mother, Becky Odell; her son, Jalen Ballard; her fur baby, Xavier; and her sister, Whitney Booker, whose passing just weeks ago left a hole in Naomi's heart. They are together again, far too soon.
