Nardine DiCristina Obituary Nardine DiCristina (nee Forchione), age 99, passed away surrounded by love on July 22, 2025.
Cherished mother to late Frank "Brook" DiCristina, Rick (Debbie) DiCristina and Denise (late Tom) Larson. Loving grandmother to Rick, Mike (Lindsey) and Nick (Liz Mohr) DiCristina, Tom (Indre) Larson, Tina (Chris) Huff. Dearest great-grandmother to Mikey, Ricky, Madelynn, Luke, Benny, Ryan, Anthony, Ella, Dominic, Dean, Frankie and Johnny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmella and Anthony Forchione and loving siblings Frank, Josephine and Rita Forchione.
Nardine's nearly century-long life was remarkable, not just for its length, but for how she lived it. Always evolving, she embraced change and challenged social norms with grace and courage. She was strong yet kind, adventurous yet responsible.
During World War II, she proudly served as a Rosie the Riveter with Douglas Aircraft Company at O'Hare Airport, filling a crucial labor shortage and paving the way for women in the workforce.
Nardine was the rock of her family – steadfast, strong and full of love. She led by example, offering wisdom, warmth and endless generosity. Devoted and hardworking, she held many roles throughout her life, including a longtime position with the local 39th Ward Alderman.
Everyone who met Nardine adored her. She will be remembered for her kindness, contagious joyful spirit and deep, unwavering love for her family and friends.
We invite friends and family to gather Friday, August 22nd at St. Edward Church (4350 W. Sunnyside Ave, Chicago, IL 60630)
- 10:30am Brief Ceremony honoring Nardine's work as a Rosie (courtyard).
- 11am Funeral Mass directly followed by a memorial gathering in Unity Hall (lower level of the church).
