Natalie Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plummer Funeral Home - Augusta on Feb. 21, 2026.
SOUTH PORTLAND-- Natalie P. Andrews, 87, passed away peacefully on February 13th with her daughters by her side after a long brave battle with Alzheimer's.

Natalie grew up in the Portland area and enjoyed her childhood summers in Great Village, Nova Scotia. After graduating South Portland High School, she embarked on a career with Canal Bank until her adventurous side sent her to California with friends. Upon her return to Maine, she met and married James and began her next adventure by raising a family in South Portland. Together they enjoyed summers at their camp on Sebago Lake and boating on Casco Bay.

What remained constant over the decades were her many friends including her lifelong bridge group.

After retirement, her winters were spent in Sarasota swimming laps in the pool, playing tennis and gathering with friends.

Her biggest adventure was the one with James on their boat A's Ark from Portland to Sarasota, Florida. Natalie took the apprehensive position of First Mate for the trip to their winter residency and back.

Natalie is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Joan Boehm; and her husband of 52 years, James Andrews.

She is survived by her daughters: Alison and her husband Robert of Mulberry, FL and Alicia of Augusta. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At Natalie's request there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Her daughters would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at The Woodlands Memory Care of Hallowell.
