Natalie Worrell Cogsdale

Newsoms – Natalie Worrell Cogsdale, 93, peacefully departed this life December 19, 2025 in her home with her loving family by her side. Born on November 25, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Mildred Brett Worrell. She was also predeceased by her husband, James E. Cogsdale; her daughter, Kimberly C. Gurganus; and her sister, Lucy Ann Crowder (Charles).

Natalie was a graduate of Courtland High School and Pan American Business School. She was a secretary at Pulley and Rowe Law Firm and a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. Her love and faith in God will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Ercelle Hasty (Robbie) and Lori Rothrock (Keith); a son, James "Jim" Cogsdale (Linda); a son-in-law, Ricky Gurganus (Dora); seven grandchildren, Anrae Applewhite (Brandon), Adam Gurganus, Claire Mueller (Nick), Jamie Whitley (Wyatt), Megan Holland (Dustin), Bethany Hermann (Justin), and Zachary Vann (Nadia); and eleven great grandchildren, Jayden, Grant, Brock and Weston Applewhite, Addison Gurganus, Kate Mueller, Truitt and Rhett Hermann, Andi Grace and Mia Holland, and Ellory Vann.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM December 23, 2025 in Newsoms Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to Newsoms Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to dedicated caregivers, Patsy, Madeline, Josie, Raven, and Robin and Gentiva Hospice.
