Nathalie (Kurtigian) Sotiropoulos, 98, a life-long resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, while surrounded by loving family.
Nathalie was born in Worcester, daughter of survivors of the Armenian Genocide, Hagop and Mushgunas (Aykanian) Kurtigian. She was proud of her Armenian heritage and loved the music, dance, food, and Armenian events. Most of all she loved her family. She grew up in Worcester and lived here before moving to Falmouth in 2020 to be closer to family.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Andrea Grepstad and her husband Arne, and Eugenia Paraghamian and her husband Harold; two grandsons, Dr. Aram Paraghamian and his wife Dr. Linnea Zimmerman, and Christian Paraghamian; and a spectacular great grandson, Laz Joel Paraghamian, who brought much joy and laughter to her life; nieces, nephews, and extended family in Norway and Washington State. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret “Maggie” Kurtigian and her brother, Ardivast “Ardy” Kurtigian and his wife Rose.
Nathalie began her career as a clerk with the Department of Public Welfare, where she rose in the ranks from food stamp tech to becoming a social worker, handling Medicaid.
Following her retirement, she became the oldest active member of the Worcester Fitness and Athletic Club, where she enjoyed swimming, exercising, and socializing on a daily basis, and made many wonderful friendships, too numerous to mention. Upon moving to Falmouth, she expanded her social network even further, enjoying Boozy Tuesdays with Arne and others, pool days with the neighbors, beach days and happy hour on the deck.
Sincere thanks to the Royal Megansett Nursing and Retirement Home and VNA of Cape Cod for the wonderful love, support, and care. Nathalie’s family will be forever grateful.”
