Nathan I. Knapp

Nathan I. Knapp, 59, of Candor, NY, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 peacefully at home after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. Nate was born January 9, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Diana Davis and was adopted by the late Ivan and Marge Platt Knapp. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his half-sister, Marie. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Anita Tourville-Knapp; five children, two step children and their spouses, Matthew, Stacy and Nick, Kristi and Colin, Dawn and Raheem, Sara and Anthony, Jessica and Ben, Melody and Josh; eighteen grandchildren, Lilly, Travis, Riley, Marcella, David, Melanie, Emma, Faith, Kysheem, Aaliyah, James Jr., Liam, Raheem Jr., Beatrice, Razi, Alaia, Henry, Leo; half-brother, Frank; half-sister, Ginny and her husband, Steve. Nate had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He was dedicated and knowledgeable as a Surgical Scrub Technician at Cayuga Medical Center for 20 years. Nate loved his OR co-workers like family and was always willing to help, teach and bring positive energy wherever he went. His passions included camping with the grandkids,hunting and bass fishing. He has been in competition as a semi-pro bass angler with FLW, BFL and BassMaster Open. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY 13827 with Pastor Kevin Rollo, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the Funeral Home.
