In memory of
Charlie Gili
February 25, 2020
Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Nathan R. Chapman US Army Sergeant 1st Class. We have also made a donation in his name to the Green Beret Foundation.
We realize that these are small tributes, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

After we laid the roses upon your sons marker that cold rainy January day, I went home and listened to "It's Not Easy Being Green" and thought of all the brave WILLING & ABLE to fight for our freedom wearing the "Green". I will always be thankful to you son, husband, father for that.
Blessings

Thought of you yesterday on the announcement of the death of Osama Bin Laden. Also noticed we share a birthday 4 days apart! We graduated H.S. together and shared many friends. I still remember you Nate. I hope this brings more peace and comfort to your family. I continue to serve and support our brothers in arms in many ways. It will surely be a wonderful day when we all come home for good. May God bless you and your family.

Nathan,
Everyone in the United States is indebted to you for giving your life that we may continue to be a free country - a country that is still free from terrorism today because of brave soldiers like you. We pour out our deepest, heartfelt sympathies to your family. You were and always will be a real American Hero who left behind family and friends who loved you and will never forget you. Thank you Nathan. America continues to salute you on this Veterans Day, 2010.

I think of Nathan and his family everyday, as the family picture I was sent after I sent a sympathy card when he passed still sits amongst our family photos and always will! I promised we would never forget and we never do. God be with his wife, children and family. And thank you Nathan for service above and beyond, rest in peace till your loved ones see you again!

I regret deeply that I did not know Sgt. 1st Class Nathan R. Chapman in life. My deepest sympathies extend to his family, friends and fellow soldiers at this time. I will pray for all of you each day as long as God gives me breath to do so. I know His strength and love and comfort sustain you even now after some time has passed. I will look forward to getting to know Nathan when my time comes to pass through the veil where he has gone from this life into the place God has prepared for us.
Nathan, I do have a son, a soldier, also named Nathan. I feel strongly that each of our soldiers is truly a son and daughter to all Americans, and to myself personally. We are all so very proud of you and will forever be in your debt for the fight and defense for freedom that you have made and the sacrifice of the life you gave for it. We will never forget you. Until we meet, may God's greatest of rewards be yours and may you rest in peace, our son.
God bless all who may read this!

To the Chapman family--we live down the street from Nathan's former home on South Hill. We attended the dedication of the nearby Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail. His sacrifice for our country is not forgotten! We, as well as other anonymous citizens, remember Nathan by placing flowers & a U.S. flag near his bronze plaque at the head of the trail. The memory of his service & sacrifice lives on in the hearts of those who will never know you. Please take some comfort in that thought. God bless each of you.

Rest in Peace. My flag flies in your honor.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
