You are a dear friend to this family. You exhibited so much grace during the time we knew you...a man hard to compare with and one to admire and respect. Farewell, and rest in peace.

Nate, I will miss you! You are a beautiful and gentle soul. Thank you so much for being an exceptional volunteer in the Methodist Hospital Surgery Center. Your hugs were so welcoming. I can only imagine that you are resting up, now that you are in heaven, and then you'll be helping out and having fun. Enjoy! Peace, Love, and JOY to you.

Nate, You were always so kind and nice to me, and always made me feel a part of your family. I will miss our joking around on the phone and your visits.

Tell them all in heaven hello for us. You were the most wonderful son, husband, father, and uncle in the whole wide world. You never lost the soft partial Viginia tones of your dad's voice and when the person on the other end of the phone said "hello" memories of Granddaddy flooded through my heart. I know how proud your parents were of you - I have the news paper clippings they had tucked away here and there. Being the one to stay in Savannah has made me the custodian of so much family 'stuff'. I will miss you, Uncle Nat (Nate is your Northern name) with all my heart. I remember your laughing when the guards broke up as your car went through the gates - well yes, it was me making faces at them from the back of the staton waggon - in the 'dog pen' with the dog that was bigger than me! Later you told me y'all put me there 'cause I talked incessently...still do! Thank you for being my uncle, giving me a great cousin, wonderful aunt, the love of dogs and the memories I will always cherish.
