Minister Nathaniel Hart Sr.

Nathaniel Hart, Sr., the 2nd oldest of 11 children, was born to the late Clent Hart, Sr., and Elma Cobarris Hart on September 2, 1946, in Ocala, FL. Also preceding him in death are elder brother, Sylvester (Elaine) Hart, Sr., and son, Nathaniel (Erika) Hart, Jr.
He graduated from Fessenden High School in 1964, and joined the U. S. Army in 1966. Nathaniel served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, and received the distinguished Purple Hart award. He completed 20 years of active service and retired in 1986 with the rank of E-7.
Following retirement, the Lord called him into ministry. His love for God and people lead to an very active ministry in foreign missions. He served with the Church of God program, Ministry to the Military, in the countries of Germany and Italy. He also participated in many mission trips to Panama (Central America), Honduras, and Jamaica. He pastored the Sanctuary of Hope church in Citra, FL for 12 years. During that time the church sponsored a community GED program, a food pantry, and a free clothes closet. He labored, preached, and taught until his health caused him to cease.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Tanya McCullough Hart; 2 daughters: Delinda Kenney, Valarie Lowry; 8 sisters: Rutha Phillips, Ilene (Johnson-Decased) Clark, Lena (Otis) Wilson, Betty (Elbert) Johnson, Deborah (Leroy) Green, Brinda (Larry-Decased) Hall, Emma Hart, Shirley (Jonathan) Booker; one brother: Clent (Judy) Hart, Jr.; 6 grandchilren: Jonathan Kenney, Jazmine (Jarrett) Swain, Nicholas Lowry, Nathaniel (Maria) Hart, III, Gabriel (Jasmine) Hart, Nickol Hart-Smith; 2 great-grandaughters: Jordyn Swain, Jayla Swain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
