Dear Nauka. Another anniversary of the 9/11 attack. I visited the 9/11 Memorial last summer in NYC and found your name carved by the Infinity Pool. I felt sad, but at the same time very proud of you. Your spirit lives on!

Warmly, Helen

I don't know if the family will see this but I wanted to let them know that this past Sept. 11th I climbed 37 floors here in Phoenix AZ in memory of all who lost their lives that day. Each climber pinned a name of a victim and climbed in their honor and I was given Mr Kushitani. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Dear Nauka,
I went to 911 memorial site over the weekend to see your name on south pool.
I can never get over this horrible event even after 10yrs, however I had a little peaceful moment for the first time when I was standing in front of your name and looking at the fountain.
You will never be fogotten.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Dearest Nauka,

I can't describe how sad I was when I found out that you were in the towers on that horrible day. My heart literally sank. I very much enjoyed the time that we worked together at Williams Capital. I still carry the pen that you brought me from Japan. God bless you always, and hopefully one day we'll see each other again in a much better place.

With Love,

Lori

Oh, Nauka, what do I say... what do I write ... I wish that 9/11/01 had never happened the way that it did... You and so many had their lives cut short too soon... I want you to know that you made Tokyo Securities more bearable! You and I always took lunch every day... giggled like schoolgirls as we talked about "you know who" and how he was a creep! You used to make me laugh so hard and I likewise... Our lunch hours were the best. Those times were great, weren't they? I just remembered that I have the Hello Kitty clip-on that you gave me in my car.. I also recall how you were going on vacation and wanted me to "cat-sit" that virtual pet toy that came out in '97... Wrong move!! LOL! Nauka, you were such a friendly, wise, kind, sweet, thoughtful and giving person.. And I am grateful that life made us friends even if it was for a short while.. Nauka, please check in on me and all you knew, every now and then, as our angel unaware... I know you're at peace and you're happy & that is what counts...

Love,

Nadia

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Nauka encouraged me to come to Japan 13 years ago, after we both graduated from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She was so sincere and straight-forward, and thanks to her kindness I am happily working and living in Japan. She will be fondly missed....

Nauka was my first friend when I began working in Tokyo. We ate lunch together, went to the Shiseido Parlor together, and shared so many good times together. I will remember her kind, sincere, and open nature. I miss you so Nauka.
