Neal Angelo Carpentieri, 72, of North Granby, beloved husband of JoAnn (Lareau) LaClair Carpentieri, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2024. Born in Hartford on September 7, 1951, the son of the late Angelo and Gladys (Elliott) Carpentieri. Neal attended local schools and was a 1969 graduate of Windsor High School.
Neal never one to shy away from hard work to provide for his family, spent 47 years working 50 hours a week at Hamilton Standard as a sheet metal technician until his retirement in 2017. In his free time Neal was an avid golfer, being a longtime member of Copper Hill Golf Club and enjoyed playing golf with his life-long high school friends. Neal also enjoyed gardening and being outside with his wife JoAnn and spending time with family and friends at Rhode Island beaches. Neal was everyone's friend, and the kindest person you could have met. No one that ever met him had a bad word to say about Neal. He was an avid sports fan and loved NY Giants; Atlanta Braves; Yankees and UCONN Women. He was also a fantastic dancer, whether it was at a party, on the beach or in the kitchen with JoAnn.
Neal is survived by his wife of 15 years, JoAnn (Lareau) LaClair Carpentieri of North Granby, his children, Samuel Carpentieri, Adam Carpentieri and his son Killian and Dianna Carpentieri and her fiancé Paul Stepanick, all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. As well as his stepson, Gary W. LaClair and his wife Stacy of Tolland, his grandchildren, Jeremy LaClair, Justin LaClair, Brianna LaClair. His remaining siblings, Louis Carpentieri and his wife Dawn of Windsor Locks, Michael (wife Fran who passed) Carpentieri of Outer Banks, NC and his sister, Karen Ruel. Neal leaves many brothers in laws and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who all loved him tremendously. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Neal's name to Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation - https://fidelco.org/
Neal was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Gladys (Elliott), his sister Carol and brother Glenn.
A celebration of live for Neal will be held privately and at the convenience of the family at a date to be determined. Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home of Granby has care of the arrangements.

My Uncle Neal was sincere, had a warm personality, and was just a very kind and gentle man who would do anything for anyone. His eyes sparkled when he smiled and his laugh was unforgettable. I have so many specific first hand memories of him throughout my childhood that I'll never forget. The most special memory I have of him is running up to him and jumping into his arms to give him a hug as we greeted one another. I'd say his name "Uncle Neato". He would always respond with "Ayyyy" like The Fonz on 'Happy Days'. As I got older, there was no longer any running or jumping, but our cute little greeting remained the same for over 50 years. For over 50 years, we smiled and laughed every time we saw one another. There was an unspoken, yet mutual love and respect for each other imbedded within our greeting. It was a unique gift that he gave me and I'll never forget it...or him. I'll miss you Uncle Neato and look forward to the next time I hear you say "Ayyyy". Sam, Adam, and Diana... I'm so proud to hear that you're all doing well and are happy and healthy! I miss you guys! And I'm so saddened by your Dad's passing. He was the BEST. You guys were soooo lucky to have him as a Dad. He was truly a wonderful man and I'll NEVER forget him. Aunt Joann, I hope and pray your sadness and grief is healed quickly and you ,continue to honor him within the legacy of our families. Much love to all of you, Lisa Carpentieri-Sorensen

How many people can say they have had a friend for 60 years? Neal was always around when friends needed work done. He was a unique individual loved by all who knew him.

So sorry to learn of Neil´s passing. Mickey and Fran were friends from years ago. Mick always spoke highly of his brother. Our family has worked on your pump and always mentioned to us what a pleasant man Neil was and enjoyed talking with him. . Thinking of you. Sincerely Tom & Judy Nigro
