Neal Fisher Obituary

Neal Emery Fisher passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, after a short illness. He was born in Berea, OH on February 1, 1935, to Harold L. and Edna Marie (Pallas) Fisher and lived in Medina, OH. He graduated from Medina Senior High School in 1953 and then attended General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. Neal received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in 1958.
He enlisted in the US Navy and after his active service ended he was in the US Navy Reserves for eight years while working at TRW, a defense contractor in Cleveland, OH. Neal worked for a variety of companies in the Cleveland area including Lakewood Industries, Harris Calorific, and Stock Equipment Company.
In 1958, he married the love of his life, Jo Ann Juergens. Neal and Jo Ann were married for 62 years until her death on May 5, 2020, in Jacksonville, FL.
Jo and Neal purchased their first house in 1959 in Willowick, OH when Jo was working at the NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland. They had three boys while living in Willowick (Mark, Dean and Scott). In 1969 they built a house in Medina where they lived in until 1979. Then later that year, the whole family moved west to San Diego, CA. After retirement in 2001, Jo and Neal moved east to The Villages, FL where they lived until 2016. They had a great time in retirement when they lived in The Villages going to concerts, dances, street fairs, the wine club and other activities. In 2016 Neal and Jo moved to Jacksonville, FL to be near their son Scott and his wife Suzanne.
He is survived by his sons Mark (Jean) Fisher of Poway, CA; Dean (Marcia) Fisher of Costa Mesa, CA and Scott (Suzanne) Fisher of Jacksonville, FL. Neal is also survived by two grandchildren, Kyle (Samantha) Fisher of Portland, OR and Keely Fisher of San Diego, CA. Neal was predeceased by his brother, James Henry Fisher, of Medina, OH.
Neal loved working on and restoring classic cars. He even built a car from a kit. He was fun loving and enjoyed camping with friends, golfing, playing bocce and croquet, and drinking fine wine. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 11:00 am, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St. Medina, OH. He and Jo Ann Fisher will be buried at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, OH.

Yesterday

Neal and I started school together. Our birthdays were 3 weeks apart and Edna invited me to wonderful birthday parties for Neal. He lived 4 houses from me until moving to the new house on East Friendship. We sat together at the last Medina High School reunion that he was able to attend with his son. His brother, Jim, lived directly behind us until his death. Neal will always be remembered as being kind and considerate.
