Neal M. Golden, 55, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in the home that he shared with Sonale Hollister, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born on September 1, 1970, Neal was well loved by family and friends. He was a highly respected automotive technician whose deep integrity, exceptional skill, and wonderful sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Neal grew up in Burnt Hills and remained a lifelong resident of the local area. He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1988 and later earned his degree from Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in 1990. He was a longtime resident of Charlton, NY.

Neal devoted his professional life to the intricate world of automotive repair. He was known for his very smart mind, meticulous work ethic, and ability to diagnose the most complex issues. He was well respected for his integrity and honesty.
Neal's commitment to excellence led him to continually advance his education throughout his career, culminating in 2004 when he achieved the prestigious and elite designation of GM World Class Technician, a title held by only a select few. This achievement was a testament to his expertise, tireless study, and unwavering dedication to his craft. For over 10 years he was employed by FedEx in Menands.
Outside of work, Neal had a genuine passion for exploring the world. He loved vacationing and always looked forward to traveling to new places. Some of his favorite places to visit were Newport RI, the Finger Lakes region, Key West and Disney World. Neal was a man of great character, always willing to lend a hand to help out a friend. His dedication to family and friends, his kindness, his unwavering integrity, and his easy and excellent sense of humor will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank Sonale Hollister, a very special person in his life, without whom the family would not have be able to get through this extremely difficult period.
