Neal A. Kreitner, 84, of Coloma passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A funeral mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma, with burial following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Watervliet. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Neal's memory may be made to the Coloma Public Library. Neal was born Jan. 22, 1941, in St. Joseph to Alvin and Helen (Arent) Kreitner. He graduated from Coloma High School, received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. On Feb. 4, 1967, he married Ann (Tavolacci) Kreitner and together they operated the 166-year-old family farm, starting in 1965 until his passing. Neal was an avid reader, who loved visiting the public library, traveling and was a Civil War history enthusiast.
Neal is survived by his children: Jim (Samantha) Kreitner of Scotts, Mich., Karen (Craig) Davis of Coloma, Charlie (Tammy) Kreitner of Benton Harbor, and Kevin (Lisa) Kreitner of Sodus; two sisters; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, in 2023 and his parents.
