I met Neal at Ford Motor Company. I got hired in 1976 and Neal got hired in 1977. I remember so many things like it was yesterday. Neal used to load heads on the 6 cylinder head assembly. I remember his dad and brother coming to our line to visit Neal. We all got bumped around after awhile so we would run into each other every now and then. So I originally met Neal in Plant 1. We had a good group of people that worked with us. Most of us were so young back then. Most of us were around 19 yrs. old when we started at Ford. After all of us got bumped around we finally worked together again. This time it was in Plant 2. We worked on the Jag line. We actually had fun working together there. He eventually became one of my good friends. I will never forget him. I eventually retired in 2000 after 34 yrs. Most everyone we knew were retiring too. Neal had a great personality and was so very funny. After retiring we kept in touch. I would visit Neal and Nancy at his house on Snow Rd. We really become very good friends. Then he got sick and was in intensive care for a long time. When he came I don´t really think he recovered completely. Before u know it he sold his duplex. His mom used to live in the duplex. but she eventually past away. That is another thing I respected him for. He was always there for his mom. Him and Nancy watched over her and made sure she had what she needed. Neal wanted to be closer to his daughter and grandkids. He spoke all the time about them. Then before u know it he told me he sold his house and was moving to Chicago. I know that he wanted to be closer to them. So he and Nancy packed all their things and moved to Chicago. And we can´t forget about Cardi, his dog that he loved so much. I really wish he had more time to enjoy living in Chicago and being close to his daughter and grandkids. He loved them so very much. I do miss Neal and still can´t believe he has passed away. Rest in peace, Neal. Hope u and your mom, dad and other family members are reunited again. I wish peace to everyone. But I know everyone has some good memories about Neal that can help us get rid of the heartache that is affecting us. Gone too soon. But I do have such wonderful memories that will put a smile on my face to help with my heartache. Gone too soon.Give your mom a hug from me.
