Necia Doreen Davis-Uden passed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was 90 years of age. Necia was born north of Riverton, Nebraska in a dug-out February 25, 1935 the daughter of Lorance (Pete) and Bessie (Fields) Bower. Two older brothers were a part of this family, Jack and Buck.
Necia’s family moved closer to Riverton, and she attended Riverton schools. She married Everett Hoschower. This marriage dissolved in time. Necia married James Davis and to this union four boys were born: Arley, Jeffery, Ted and William. They moved their family to Hastings, Nebraska and raised their boys there. Later this marriage ended in divorce.
Necia later married Herbert Uden. They also made their home in Hastings. He passed away in 1986. She was baptized into her faith in the Lord. Later Necia moved to Naponee until her home burnt and she moved to Campbell, Nebraska to live with her son Bill and his family.
An accident required her to become a resident of the Red Cloud Heritage Home. There she made new friends and enjoyed her last years. Necia had an artistic flare. Sewing, knitting, cake decorating and spending endless hours coloring in big books. She loved to watch the birds and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing.
Throughout her life, she worked in Morgan Nursing Home, owned and operated a creamery in Riverton with her husband Jim, worked in a sewing factory, boat factory, and sewing department at the Hastings Regional Center. She retired from there.
Those who passed before her: parents, Pete & Bessie Bower, brother Jack * Betty Bower, brother Buck & Verna Bower, husband Herbert Uden, son Arley Davis, stepson Loren Uden, and granddaughter Candy Davis.
Left to miss her smile and laughter include son Jeffery and wife Molly, Lincoln, NE; son Ted and wife Susan, Naponee, NE; son Bill and wife Jodi, Campbell, NE; 12 grandchildren: Adam, Cory, Jan, Clint, Miranda, Heather, Tyler, Jason, Austin, Brandon, Christine, and Andrea; 26 great grandchildren; stepsons Lynell Uden and wife Candi and John Uden both of Hastings, NE; a host of relatives and friends.
Cremation services were chosen. A graveside memorial service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Riverton City Cemetery with Pastor Audra Beaty officiating. She will be laid to rest by her parents. Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, NE assisted the Davis family with these arrangements.
