Ned Arthur Chinavare, a father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 70. On August 3, 1954, Ned was born to the late Ned Abel Chinavare & Barbara Jean (Teifer) Chinavare.
Ned was the proud father of Rachel Chinavare and her husband, Ray Hammoud, and grandfather of Hassan and Kathleen Hammoud.
Ned shared a special bond of friendship with Ed O'Brien and Tom Izzo, who stood by him through life's many adventures. He also shared a lifelong connection with Kathleen Reynolds (Chinavare). Their friendship began on a middle school dance floor and blossomed into a relationship that spanned 25 years.
A man of many talents, Ned was a skilled tradesman who worked hard throughout his life. After high school, he pursued his passion for skilled labor, becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician, a role he took great pride in. He dedicated much of his career to the steel industry, retiring from Great Lakes Steel after years of hard work and dedication.
When not working, Ned lived life to its fullest. He loved the outdoors, often found fishing, boating, golfing, camping, or simply enjoying nature. His culinary skills brought joy to those around him, as he found enjoyment in cooking for his loved ones. Ned's sense of humor, kindness, and generosity endeared him to everyone he met, and his outgoing and sociable nature made him the life of every gathering.
A lover of animals, Ned had a special affection for his pets. His cats, Scruffy and Fortune, and his dog, Dixie, brought him immense joy and companionship.
Ned's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Ned's cremation is taking place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
