Ned Ray Skinner Sr., 63, of Okawville, IL, born on April 26, 1961, in Belleville IL, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his home.
Ned was fond of building and tinkering with anything he could get hold of, the many tools in his collection were a sign of that. The man could build you a house from the ground up. "Jack of all trades, master of none."
A favorite pastime of Ned's was astronomy. He would be outside for hours looking into the night sky, picking out the many constellations that were visible.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jacqueline Skinner (nee Fowler); brother, Terry Skinner; sister, Linda Brenner; and brother-in-law, Paul Brenner.
Ned is survived by his three children, Ned Ray (Dawn Ramsey) Skinner Jr., Sabrina Marie Skinner, Corey Christopher Skinner; his partner, Sara Wagner; four siblings, Gail (Dave) Strohl, whom he affectionately referred to as "Mom" and "Pop," Nancy (John) Powell, Sally (Charlie) Zeigler, Rachel (Tom) Flemming; two grandchildren, Laken Skinner, Grant Skinner; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org.
Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
There will be a celebration of life held Memorial Day weekend at "The Clubhouse".
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Ned, please visit our floral store.
