Mr. Nehemiah (Nick) Green, age 79, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at Obici Hospital. Born on November 8, 1945, to the parents of Mr. William J. Greene Sr. and Mrs. Mary Geneva Scott Greene. Nehemiah lived a life filled with love, strength, and faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. William J. Greene Sr., and Mrs. Mary Geneva Scott Greene; two brothers, Andrew L. Green, Robinson E Green; five sisters, Lecy M. Hall, Georgiann Harden, Jacquelyn L. Greene, Othell Brown, and Olivia Beale.

A devoted servant of the Lord, Nehemiah was a faithful member and Deacon at Open Hands Christian Fellowship, where he served with humility, compassion, and commitment. His love for God and his church family was evident in every aspect of his life.

He was known for his kind heart, quiet wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and faith. Nehemiah's presence brought warmth to every room, and his words often carried the calm assurance of someone who had truly lived and understood life's deeper meaning.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 33 years, Mrs. Carolyn Green, who was his steadfast companion and source of joy; three daughters, Tracey Austin (John), Felicia Johnson (Montreal), Sabrina Bevins (Carlton); four bothers, Willie W. Green, William J. Green, Jr. (Linda), Robert L. Green (Mariann), and Lawrence Green; two sisters, Betty A. Mann and Mary E. Russell; one special aunt, Bertha Lee Hall; two uncles, Melvin Scott and Eddie L. Green; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Nehemiah (Nick) found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, spending time with family and friends, and taking pride in the upkeep of the church grounds as well as the maintenance of his home and yard. His easygoing nature and love for the outdoors reflected his appreciation for peace and simplicity.

His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this time of loss.
