Neil Byrd Obituary
Neil Archie “Bud” Byrd, 83 went to be with our Lord early Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at Glenflora in Lumberton, NC.
Neil retired from DuPont and was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church in St. Pauls, NC.
He is preceded in death by wife Mavis Rozier Byrd and wife Janice White Byrd; father Lucius Guy Byrd; mother Mary Clark Byrd; brothers Charles Byrd and Yates Byrd; sisters Betty Powers, Ella Jones and Ruth Russell. Neil is survived by wife Shirley Rozier Byrd; daughters Terry Thomas (David) of Hope Mills; Debbie Owens (Jeff) of Fayetteville; Betty Ray (Raymond) of Graham; stepson Eddie Dalton (Jenn) of Durham; brothers John Byrd of Bladenboro; Cecil Byrd of Fuquay-Varina; sister Rosa Edge of Virginia Beach, VA; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 302 S 2nd Street in St. Pauls. The family is requesting a private family burial at Tolarsville Baptist Church cemetery.
