Neil F. DeRiggi

Neil F. DeRiggi, 79, of Metuchen passed away on Thursday, January 1st, 2026 in Edison, NJ. He was a beloved husband, father, and Pop Pop.
Born in Newark, NJ on March 4th, 1946, Neil grew up in Rahway and attended Rahway High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the Airforce in 1964. He served in the military for 4 years and in Vietnam. After his services, Neil pursed a career as a Jet Turbine Mechanic for PSE&G until his retirement after 37 years. In 1970, he married the love of his life Patricia and settled down in Metuchen, where they raised their family together.
Neil loved fishing, especially fly fishing. He travelled all over the world from Chile, to out west to the Bahamas and was an avid participant in the March of Dimes walk-a-thon Committee. Neil was an outdoorsman. From camping to fishing, Neil loved nature.
He is predeceased by his parents: Neil and Josephine (n. Mastromonica) DeRiggi and his sister, Sharon Levenson.
Neil is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Patricia (n. Paffenroth) DeRiggi, of Metuchen; his son, Neil DeRiggi and his, daughter, Jackie DeRiggi, both of Metuchen; his treasured granddaughters: Josephine, Jade, Sonia, and Skylar; and his sister Patricia Dombroski if Edison.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will begin at 5:15 pm followed by Military Honors at 6:30 pm.
