Neil Haberman 80, of Manchester Township NJ passed away peacefully on his favorite chair, with his beloved dog on his lap Friday November 14th, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn NY he attended PS 156 and IS 392 then Tilden High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Air Force serving in a Signal Unit that provided communications support for Infantry Divisions. He served from 1963-67 receiving a Purple Heart after being shot in combat. After he was discharged he enrolled in Community College in NYC.
He worked throughout the years as a Credit Manager for Jordache, Gobi Primak, and Design House. He lived in New Milford, J for nearly 30 years but would vacation every summer on the Gulf Coast, Siesta Key. He and Avril loved it so much that they decided to retire there. After moving to Florida to retire (literally within days) he started a new business venture, starting up a Limousine Company named Paradise Care Service.
Neil was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life Avril in 1983 only six months after meeting her. Sheri was Avril's daughter from her previous marriage but to Neil she was his first born. Rachel was born in 1986 and was the light of his life. She was in every sense of the word a Daddy's girl. He loved all of his girls deeply.
After 8 years in Florida, Rachel getting married to Tim and missing his daughters enormously they decided to come back to New Jersey and make Leisure Village their home. It was during this time that his grandson Luke was born. This brought him immeasurable joy. He loved being a grandpa.
There are no words for how much he will be missed, he was the rock of the family. The source of every bad or inappropriate joke. The comedian, singing everywhere, knew every Do Wop group, loved all movies, music documentaries, huge sports fanatic, loved his Yankees. Could talk to anyone about everything, for literally hours. He loved his dogs, they went everywhere with him. He loved his life. Most of all, he loved his wife of 43 years Avril. His daughters Sheri and Rachel, his grandson Luke.
The son of Manuel and Rose, brother to Norma, uncle to Jeffrey and Leslie and Father in Law to Tim. Lastly, Grandpa to Luke.
The family requests donations be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
