Mr. Neil Allen Padgett, 88, originally from Tampa, Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was born in Hillsborough County, Florida on February 25, 1937 to Jacob Byron Padgett and Marguerite Thompson Padgett. Neil was a member of Bibleway Baptist Church in Boone, NC. He worked with Florida Fishery and Wildlife Conservation for many years, where he enjoyed making nets. He will be missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Elizabeth Lee Padgett; sister, Helen Jordan; and brother, Louis Padgett. He is survived by four children, Marie (Robert) Winebarger, Ronald (Lisa) Padgett, Neil (Melodie) Padgett, Jr., and Thurman Padgett; grandchildren, Stephanie Rawls, Matthew Winebarger, Grace Winebarger, Faith (Justin) Padgett Cooke, and Nathaniel Padgett; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Uziah, and Noah; brothers, Scott Padgett, Andrew Padgett; brother-in-law, Gus Jordan; along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Bibleway Baptist Church in Boone, NC.
