Neil W. Price, 75, of Bryson City, NC, formerly of Marion, NC, went to be with Jesus, on October 25, 2025, at Harris Regional Hospital, in Sylva, NC, after a year long illness under hospice care.
He was born on April 2, 1950, in Swannanoa, NC, to Elizabeth McFalls and Edward H. Price.
He attended Old Fort School and later received his GED, on March 9, 2001.
He was ordained into the Ministry at Eastside Baptist Church in Nebo, NC, in June of 1982, under Pastor Bill Long. While there, he became a Youth Director, Ladies Sunday School teacher, and had a bus route along with his wife and daughters.
He later moved to Atlanta, GA, with his wife, and became Pastor of University Baptist Church, for almost 2 years.
Later, he was bi-vocational at other Churches in Marion and Old Fort, NC, as well as being interim at other Churches in Morganton, NC.
When he retired in 2017, he was Superintendent of Duffey Southeast Construction, out of Cedartown, GA.
In the last year and a half, he and his wife of 58 years, Diane Harris Price, have lived in Bryson City, where they are members of Harmony Baptist Church, under Pastor Tony Cochran.
Neil was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Price Dula; and a brother, Walter Page.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; a daughter, Paula Price “Sport” Clayton, and son in law, Brad of Bryson City.
He is also survived by Aaron and Stephanie Dula of Marion, as well as three grandsons, Jacob, Joshua (Briana), and Jarrett Dula (Cari) of Marion.
He has three granddaughters, Cierra “C” Clayton Hicks (Jeremy), Pearl Johnson (Scotty), and Alexandrea (“Z”) of Marion.
Two great granddaughters, Reagan Dula and Ellie Johnson of Marion.
Four great grandsons, Arrow Clayton Hicks, Anakin Dula, Preston Johnson, and Jett Hicks, all of Marion.
Five sisters, Janet Fowler, Linda Hicks (Dennis) of Hampton, VA, Cynthia Porter of FL, Marcia White (Chris) of Las Vegas, NV, and Patty Katich (Dave) of Jacksonville, NC.
Two brothers, Eddie Price (Dawn) of Clermont, FL, and Verle “Bo” Hancock of FL.
One aunt, Jo Langrehr of Greenville, SC, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Beam Celebration Center in Marion. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
