Nelda F Jarrard

Ms. Nelda F. Jarrard, 95, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Willow Brook assisted living facility in Lake City, FL, following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late E.D. and Minnie Moore Cothren. Nelda is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton A. Jarrard Sr., and one daughter, Gloria Rittman, also by three brothers, Hubert, Eugene, and Grady, and a sister, Lucille Johnson. She had made Lake City her home for the past sixty-five years after relocating from Jacksonville, FL. She was a member of the Lake City Church of God. Nelda enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with her family, cooking, quilting, fishing, and working in her vegetable garden.

Ms. Nelda is survived by her two sons Andrew Jarrard (Penny), Jacksonville, FL, Mark Jarrard (Lesley) St. Augustine, FL; two daughters, Gail Mizell, Lake City, FL, and Karen Sauls (Billy), Lake City, FL. her two sisters Helen McCardle (Cliff) Orange, TX; and Louise Lamb, Alma, GA. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great–great–grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Dennis McMillan officiating.
