Ms. Nell Louise Williams Brown, age 89, passed away peacefully at Perfect Care on Saturday, February 14, 2026. A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, GA 31768. Rev. Mark Carter and Rev. Dorsia Atkinson will officiate the service.
Nell Louise Williams was born May 28, 1936 in Moultrie, GA to the late Charlie and Louise Williams. She graduated Moultrie High School in 1954, where she was a starting member of the 1954 State Championship Woman’s Basketball Team. In the early1970’s she coached girls’ basketball at Pineland School in Moultrie. She was a former president of Moultrie Junior Woman’s Club, and member of the Service League, and with the beautiful roses she grew it was no secret she was also in the Garden Club. She enjoyed watching Georgia football and supporting the Bulldogs as she formerly attended UGA until she met the love of her life, Lewis Brown, Jr. and was swept off her feet and married for sixty years until his death in 2017. She also adored days of entertaining with friends on lake Blackshear. She was a long-time member of First Methodist Church in Moultrie, was a faithful member of Salem Church in Americus and Warwick Methodist Church in Warwick.
She is survived by her son, Charles Steven Brown (Debbie) of Americus. Her three grandchildren; Amy Jean Brown Gill (Chase), Tammi Jo Childs (James) and Tanzy Ann Easom (Mitchell). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Leonard Brown, Jr. , her son, Lewis Leonard “Lynn” Brown III, her sister, Carolyn Williams Friedlander, and her granddaughter, Paige Devon Hogsed.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gail and all the staff at Perfect Care for their loving care, kindness, and wonderful hospitality shown during this time.
