Nellie Valley

Nellie Valley passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 86 in Holt, Michigan. Born on May 20, 1939, in Standish, Michigan, to Roy and Linna Williams.
Nellie's early years in Standish were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and she carried this sense of togetherness throughout her life. Her siblings, Bud (Shela) and Dick (Peggy), and sister Linna, shared in the joys and sorrows of life with her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karen, brothers, Harvey, Ray (Helen), Bill (Norma), Roy (Dora), and Jack (Leora), who paved the way for her journey to a heavenly reunion.
The matriarch of her own loving family, Nellie is survived by her adoring children, Pam (Steve) Lemorie and Craig (Rhonda) Buhl. She was a cherished grandmother to Meagan, Thomas, Briana (Jr), Brett (Kristen), Dana (Andrew), Ryan (Jessica) and Kyle (Mia) along with great grandkids Levi, Maci, Connor, Waylon, Olivia, Jack, Everett, Wilder and Aspen and a doting great-grandmother to Bo and Emmy. Each of them was a sparkling jewel in the crown of her life, and she nurtured them with the same love and kindness that she extended to everyone she met.
Nellie's life was marked by simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers Baseball team, and her eyes would light up with joy and excitement with every play. Camping trips were treasured adventures, where she found serenity in nature and laughter around the campfire. Above all, being with her family was her greatest joy. The bonds she forged were unbreakable, and the memories created were countless.
Those who knew Nellie will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and gentleness. Her smile was a source of comfort, and her presence was a haven of peace. She approached life with a soft-spoken grace that drew people to her, and she left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Per Nellie's wishes she has been taken for cremation with no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.
