Nelly E. Ruiz

Nelly Eufemia Ruiz, 54, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2025 in Stamford, CT. Nelly was born in Ecuador, the daughter of Maria Yambay and Nelson Ruiz. She moved to the U.S. in 1991 with big dreams, going on to continue her education and become a cosmetologist, eventually owning hair salons throughout Stamford where she built a career doing what she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Steffany (Fredy) Lemus and Nelly (Joseph) Saleeba; her sons, David Barrios and Brandon Barrios; her sisters, Ines Pilco Yambay, Angela Pilco Yambay, Nancy Ruiz, Mayra Ruiz, and Diana Ruiz; her brothers, Nelson Ruiz, Ricardo Pilco Yambay, and Carlos Pilco Yambay; her nieces, Katherine Tigranyan and Veronica Rivera; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Victor Pilco Yambay.
Anyone who knew Nelly would tell you she was ambitious, strong-willed, and extremely generous. Nelly was the pillar of her family and will be incredibly missed. Her family will carry on her traditions, life lessons, values, and love.
John 11:25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even if he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 9am to 11am at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Benedict/Our Lady of Montserrat Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT.
