Will always remember the stories Nels told around the campsite and the music.
Rest now, be at peace, you will be missed

I won't be the first to tell you of what deep sadness I have felt with Nels's passing. I was informed right before thankgiving and shared story after story about Nels and our adventures and experiences we had together. Many filled the air with laughter, I kept a few to myself to share with some special people. To his immediate family, friends and the 1000s of people he touched we lost a good one. He broke the mold. Rest in peace my friend.

Would like to tell the family that I am sorry for your lost. I left N.Y. with Nels to head west and it was a hell of a ride. We ended up in Wyoming and started working in the oilfield. I decided to make it my career and Nels move on to do something different. I would like to thank Nels Jr for finding me and I did get a chance to talk to Nels. We had a great conversation talking about old times. That meant a lot to me and I appreciated that.
