Sharon and Family, I am deeply saddened to receive this news. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know. Looking back in time, it was Nelson that lit the fire to my involvement in the musical life as a child and still enjoy today. My father would have me alongside as Nelson and the others would practice in the basement of your home. I would sit on a stool just inside the door and became fascinated with all of them, mainly Nelson. As he stood singing into the microphone looking back at times to the other members of the band, I not only enjoyed the music but the manner in which Nelson seemed to sing the same songs I was able to hear on the radio. Being part of the practice sessions from time to time gave me the notion I was part of something much larger than the kids my age. Many years later after drum lessons, I picked up the guitar and started to play along with the radio hearing the same songs Nelson sang. Few years further down the road Nelson was at the house one day when he showed me a little guitar riff, which I still know to this very day. This was the turning point as I felt I was part of the crew and have never stopped playing music. When old enough I would find any location Nelson played out and thoroughly had the time of my life. I have never stopped thanking Nelson be it saying to myself, or saying it to Nelson just about every other time I would see him.
I thank you Mr. Nelson E. Corbin for the memories and push into the life of music.
