Nelson R Holder

Nelson R Holder was a loving husband, father, & pappy. He passed away on October 9, 2024. Nelson was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to parents Dorothy and Joseph Holder on Oct 15, 1956. He married Nancy Baumgardner Holder on August 29, 1981, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They moved to Alaska in June 1994. He worked as a diesel mechanic for MV Transportation for many years. He loved Alaska for its beauty and lack of people. Nelson's sense of humor was a beacon of light to those around him. He loved his Pontiac GTOs and going to car shows. Nelson loved his dog, Ace, and rabbit, Carrots. They will miss him dearly. He loved helping his neighbors whenever possible. Nelson had many friends that will miss him. He is survived by his wife Nancy Holder, daughter Jodi Ingram, grandsons Reese Ingram (Katleena Khang) of Eagle River, James Ingram of Eagle River, great-grandchildren Niklaus and Arya Ingram. Allison of Texas and many nephews and nieces as well as great nephews and nieces. Nelson wished to be cremated, and his ashes spread over Alaska. He never liked people to fuss over him. Nelson is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Joseph Holder, brother- in- laws John Allison, James Burnham & Dennis King, sister in laws Jerri Burnham & Vickie King, nephew Shawn Burnham, father-in-law and mother-n- law Clarence and Beverly Baumgardner.
