Nelson Pettett Obituary
Nelson grew up in Roswell, GA and served in the US Navy following graduation from Sprayberry High School. He married the love of his life after returning home and they settled in Marietta, producing two children. Nelson was a long serving deacon at Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell and Shady Grove Baptist Church in Marietta.
Mr. Pettett is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Charles L. Pettett of Marietta. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce; his sister, Ann Allen (Jerry) of Acworth; daughter, Kay Kennedy (Brian) of Marietta; son, Brad Pettett (Ashleigh) of Woodstock; granddaughter, Rebecca Hammitt (Robert) of Cartersville; grandson, Seth Kennedy of Marietta; and two great-granddaughters, Haelly & Kiersten Hammitt of Cartersville.
The visitation for Nelson Pettett will take place at ten o' clock in the morning on Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at the Northside Chapel at 12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA. The funeral service to honor the life of Nelson Pettett will be held at eleven o' clock in the morning following the visitation. Nelson's remains will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA in a private ceremony to be held at a later date.
