Nelson J. Sirois

MILLINOCKET - Nelson J. Sirois, 67, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born July 20, 1941, in Island Falls, the son of John and Pauline (Bishop) Sirois. Nelson liked to hunt and fish, and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Lady and Cocoa. He is survived by his wife, Gayle V. (Slauenwhite) Sirois of Millinocket; three children, Shelly Burrill and her husband, Dana, of Northfield, Lori Ketchum and her husband, Jeff, of Portland, and Travis Sirois and his wife, Christy, of Houlton; six grandchildren, Derrick, Josh, Kayla, Katrina, Brittany and Sarah; three stepgrandchildren, Matt, Kelley, and Richard; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Lucas; three sisters, Edith Josephson and her husband, Denny, Gloria Goodrich and her husband, Ronald, all of Massachusetts, and Evelyn Dunphy and her husband, Robert, of Island Falls; a brother, Roger Sirois and his wife, Sharon, of Sherman; two brothers-in-law, Rodney Slauenwhite of Oakfield, Clifford Slauenwhite and his wife, Vicki, of Smyrna Mills; a sister-in-law, Gloria Slauenwhite; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Nelson was predeceased by a brother, John Sirois; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Slauenwhite. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket.
