Nelson Slusher Obituary
Nelson Slusher, 65, of Minford, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at SOMC. He was born February 11, 1959 in Portsmouth, a son Leroy Slusher and the late Elsie Patrick Slusher, he was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 437. Nelson loved rebuilding old cars and watching bald eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (McKenzie) Slusher; one son, Jeremy (Melissa Dunham) Slusher; two step-sons, Jason (Taylan) Plummer, Jesse (Leigha) Plummer; nine grandchildren, Chase Lee, Braxton Slusher, Amya Eley, Crue Plummer, Jesslyn Plummer, Jaycee Plummer, Jensen Plummer, Jed Plummer, Janie Plummer; one great grandson, Layton Lee; two brothers, Marvin (Robin) Slusher, Marty (Teresa) Slusher, and one sister, Physcilla Slusher. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Misty Kay Slusher, and a brother, Michael "Todd" Slusher.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Friday, August 16, 2024 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Maurice Pierce officiating. Burial will be conducted at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Minford. The family asks that those attending the service drive their hot rods. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to Noon prior to the service. He was a good friend, and it was an honor and a privilege to have known him. Over the years I've worked with the whole Slusher family on several house/apartment projects and it was always a pleasure doing business with them. We will miss you Nelson! May God give comfort to the family in this time of sorrow.
