Nera White

My condolences to the family. I appreciate the efforts for women basketball. I love basketball, even through I never played professionally. I have followed it, since age 13 years. May the God of Comfort, continue to comfort the family.

I had the honor of knowing Nera in 1961 at Nashville Business College. She was a most humble person and the best basketball player that I have ever seen play. God bless the family. I know she will be sorely missed.

I was privileged to watch Nera play basketball on a number of occasions in the 1960s. Never have seen a better player before nor since then. She was simply the best! I remember playing softball against Nera when I was 26 and she was 54. We were totally in awe. To watch her easily hit the ball over the fence was amazing. I am blessed to have known such an amazing trailblazer.

My condolences this is a difficult time, it natural to grieve when you loose a loved one, may you find comfort from the inspired record of our heavenly father`s word that is written down for distressing times, instruction, comfort, hope and endurance, there you will find God`s promise for a new system of things arrangements made possible by means of his first creation, Jesus Christ`s ransom sacrifice for a sure and secure future, he is creating all things new and the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart Isaiah 65:17-25;. Throw all your anxieties upon the the true God of heaven and earth and he will sustain you. May you draw strength and courage that is granted from these promises.

To be a pioneer in women's basketball is truly a legacy worth remembering. While sports fans remember her athleticism, no doubt the family remembers the woman.

I had the privilege of playing with Nera at NBC. She was and still is in my mind the greatest BB player to ever lace up shoes. 1964/65

I never had the opportunity to meet her, but throughout her lifetime and games, Mrs. White showed that she was an outstanding, supported woman in sports...she never gave up, and always gave 100% of herself...I'm expressing my sincere condolences to her family and friends for the loss of her dear, beloved one...May our loving God grant you the strength and comfort to endure your loss - for He understands what you are going through...
