Neva M. Ward

Ward, Neva (Mable) M. age 85 of Wharton, NJ passed away peacefully Wednesday May 10, 2023 at the Saint Clare's Hospital Denville Campus following a brief illness. Born in Frankford Twp., NJ, she had lived in Chester before moving to Wharton sixty-seven years ago.
Daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Inez (nee Sliker) Drake, Mable was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, and homemaker. She dedicated over 40 years as a member and Past President of the ladies Auxiliary of Roxbury Fire Company # 3.
Mrs. Ward was predeceased by her beloved husband William E. Ward Sr. in 2008, her son William E. Ward Jr. in 2006, her brother Freeman Drake and her sisters Myrtle Dunn, Mary Todd, Gertrude Dolbeck, Henrietta Cannon, Barbara Ort, and Anna Baylas Jones. Survivors include her son David J. Sr. and his wife Dawn Ward of Succasunna, her grandchildren William and his wife Jen Ward III, Michelle and her husband Brian Yannotta, David Ward Jr. and his husband Nick Foulds, Courtney Ward and Matthew and his wife Shelly Ward, her great grandchildren Brian and Logan Yannotta, Samantha and Karson Ward, as well as her brothers Jacob Drake of Long Valley, Benjamin and his wife Carol Drake of North Carolina and Robert and his wife Rosie Drake of Long Valley.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM with funeral services being held Wednesday May 17th at 11 AM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. Online condolences through www.smith-taylor-ruggeriofuneralhome.com.
