Nevil Riley Barker, 93, of Lexington, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to the late Ottis Monroe Barker and Pearl Queen Barker on February 28, 1931, in Bryson City, NC.
Nevil was a dedicated builder for the Davidson and Forsyth County community. He was beloved by the community for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, Nevil is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Edwards Barker; son, Keith Barker; three brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his children, Tamara Gregory (Jody), Billy Barker (Leslie), Patricia Greene (Larry), and Laura Shupe (Jimmy); grandchildren, Riley, Luke, Currin, Brittany, Tyler, Ryan, John Luke, Macie, Autumn, Mandy, Brian and Caleb; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm before the service. The burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Pastor Allen Barker.
