Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Newton Alexander Sloan and Mary Ann Hardy Sloan. Newton was employed with Northside Hospital System in Atlanta, and he is a veteran of the US Navy.
Newton was preceded in death by his parents.
Newton leaves to cherish fond memories, one son, Newton Alexander Sloan, Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Ne-Franshann Arecia Sloan, Anderson, SC, and Alexia Yevette Sloan, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Rohmand Alexander Sloan (Donna Michelle), Anderson, SC; three sisters, Cheryl Edwena Sloan, Anderson, SC; Margaret Dyanne Sloan, Williamston, SC and Latarsha Sloan, Pendleton, SC; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is 1 pm Saturday in the Marvin Mattison Memorial Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Service. Public viewing is Saturday from 10 am until the hour of the service.
The family is at the home of his sister, Margaret Sloan, 53 Dove Street, Williamston, SC.
