Neysa Carolyn Patterson, 69, of Leighton, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Trae Durden officiating.
Born on May 2, 1956 to the late Howard "Bill" and Grace Robbins Alexander. Little as she was, Neysa lived a very big and beautiful life, her presence was greatly treasured by all who knew her. She will be remembered as an eternally youthful spirit, claiming every birthday after turning 29 to still be her 29th. She had the ability to turn every stranger she met into a friend that felt like family. She was a much loved, excellent mother and wife. The world was a much better place because she was in it.
Survivors include her husband of ten years; Donald Patterson; children, Joshua (Allison Clark) Morris, Jamie Leigh (Josh) Williams, Jennifer (Matt) Jones, Jerin (John) Murray, and Coral ("Bird") Raffield; grandchildren, Layton Wilson, Pierce Wilson, Robert Everett Morris, Noah Murray, Charles Jones, and James-Isaac Knox Morris; sister, Diane Britnell; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Neysa was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Elaine Buffkin.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at North Alabama Medical Center, especially Dr. Lisa Robinson.
