1989 - 2024

October 31st, 1989 - January 20th, 2024
Nicholas Scott Cook, born on October 31, 1989, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, left this worldon Saturday, January 20, 2024. A funeral ceremony in his honor will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 1, in the Rivercrest Chapel, accompanied by U.S. Army Military Honors provided by the Ft. Sill Honor Guard. Nick, the son of Dean Cook and Teresa Jamison, spent his early years in Vian and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He also got to spend some of his childhood in Germany while his father was stationed there.
In his middle school years in Vian, Nick met Aurora Miller, who would become his middle school sweetheart. Though at the time they were not allowed to date, they were really good friends. Around the age of 12, Nick moved to a Broken Arrow neighborhood with his mother, and met Clint Whisler and John Crowley. The 3 of them became lifelong friends, and share many memories of wild and crazy adventures together. In 2008, Nick joined the Army and served three years and toured in Iraq as a United States Army MP stationed in Georgia, returning to Vian, Oklahoma, upon his honorable discharge. In his return to Vian, he and Aurora reconnected and had their first official date in May of 2014 backroading and shooting guns, marking the beginning of a wild and beautiful journey together.
On March 31, 2015, Nick and Aurora exchanged vows in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He embraced Aurora's children as his own, creating a warm and loving home. Aurora fondly described Nick as "one hell of a dad."
Nick's caring nature extended beyond his family. When a tornado struck Inola, he walked through neighborhoods with a chainsaw, assisting the elderly. Known for his charm, flirtatious personality to the older ladies or as he would say silver foxes, bringing smiles and blushes to their faces.
Professionally, Nick worked at Berry Global, a plastic packaging company in Pryor, Oklahoma, starting in June 2021. His colleagues admired his dedication and positivity, noting that the workplace won't be the same without him. Despite starting from the bottom, Nick rose to a lead position, brightening up the workplace and often working on his days off to support the team.
Nick had a passion for fishing, four-wheeling, and hunting. His infectious smile and commitment to making others happy were evident in both his personal and professional life. Open-minded and respectful, Nick was a free spirit who believed in a little bit ofeverything.
