Two years .... Not a day goes by that I don´t think of you and miss all the fun we had. Every time I go to the lake I think about you and wonder just how many fish you have caught. Although we both know fishing is really about getting away and enjoying nature. Miss you every day, but I know where to find you....watch over me and guide me.

Miss you all the time my friend. I hope that you are catching a ton of fish and have all the game you could ever want. Have to tell you though, I miss our pond conversations and boy do I have a tale for you this season !!! You would honestly love it and laugh at me for days. Think of you often and miss you.

Well, the time has finally come. The last day will be this Saturday and it will be bittersweet. I know we talked about not actually making it to this day, but we both made it. I will be taking you with me on that last journey across the stage. Forever my friend, forever in my heart. Miss you dearly. 'Once a Lion always a Lion'.

Although it has been over a year, I still miss you! Our conversations would be of a different sort now, and I would trust that you have all the answers. I think of you every day as I pass your room and wonder how many fish you have caught. I dearly miss you my friend.

Nick was a joy for me to work with. He would take time to come down to the library just to say Hi and see how my day was going. When I would go to my credit recovery classroom I passed him everyday and everyday we shared a smile and a how's it going. Nick you will be missed and remembered dearly!!

Nick was my best friend at MVHS. The Indian Peak hallways were our territory and we shared many great conversations, from the real purpose of fishing to catching up on students who had graduated. He loved his time with his family and with his students, and he made an indelible mark on the lives he touched. When I changed rooms he wanted me to move back because he missed our sarcastic conversations, and how the kids would literally race me to class...I always got him laughing on that one. I finally had the chance to move back this year and it was so nice to see him every passing period. The tardy bell has rung...you better beat me to beat if you don´t want to be tardy! Nick, ya beat me this time. I will miss you dearly my friend,! May the lakes overflow with fish and the fields never be empty of game. All my love.

I first got to know Nick 21 years ago when I coached cheerleading at MVHS and he was our athletic trainer. His wit and ability to make us feel loved, even when poking fun of having to spend the most time with our cheer squad always made us feel loved. Over the 21 years working with Nick at MVHS, I enjoyed our conversations and I love how he always had such even kilter demeanor. Nick, you will be very missed by all.

Liz and I offer our deepest sympathies to Nick´s family. I had the pleasure of getting to know Nick as a teacher and friend by teaching across the hall from him for 6 years.

We had so many 6 minute "passing period" conversations as we monitored the hallways in between classes. Topics included family, hunting dogs, fishing, college basketball, football, baseball, woodworking and so much more in short, 6 minute increments!

I always texted him when I saw Nebraska playing on TV- he always replied because he was watching the game closely too!

One fond memory was when he scored Rockies Opening Day tickets and he and I and another teacher tapped out for the afternoon to see the game. It was a cold spring day but we had so much fun. Even though we moved away from Loveland in 2013, I missed him since then and even more now.

I know Nick will be watching out for his family from above. He loved you both very very much and will be with you in spirit forever. God Bless you.

Sincerely,

Dave Dillman

Nick was so fun to hang out with at our school meetings and functions. He always had something funny to say with that great dry wit of his. From baseball games to assemblies, I´ll miss him a lot.
